Lost nameless men haste on forever –
Blood red ship and wind filled sail
Swift bearing on that coast unknown
Misty in its twilight veil.
On boundless seas where none stands master
Sunset slowly dips to night,
In boundless skies which guard the waters
Hazy mysteries of light.
Silent the magic ring which girdles
Forever round the restless earth,
Links dusk to dawn across the ice caps
Snow to fire as death to birth.
The twilight gleams with changing colour,
Glowing sea and glowing sky
Dissolving time and space and purpose,
Merging When and Where and Why.
On other seas beyond the darkness
Dawn is rising from the night –
Where other skies guard other waters
Behold the magic ring of light!
